In this post, we’re giving you an inside look at Chapter 7 from Movement-Ready Church.

“Live sent.”
You’ve probably heard or said this catchy two-word phrase, spoken from countless pulpits and training events. The hope is to mobilize the businessman in the workplace or the stay-at-home mom in the neighborhood or the parents of the kids on the travel ball team. It’s meant to remind them to live missionally where they live, work, and play.
These pastors see that their greatest opportunity for the church is not in their programming but in their people’s circles of influence. The problem is that while the church repeats this pithy “live sent” tagline, they rarely have a plan to help their people put it into practice. The result is that members remain dependent on the church’s programming to do that kind of work in their community. So missions never moves beyond church-driven outreach. Ownership never shifts from the church staff to its people.
That's why we created the Kingdom Circle tool
It's our most popular tool, the one churches use with emerging leaders to help them create a personalized plan to uniquely make disciples. It works by having them answer one big question: How can I bring the kingdom of God into my circle of influence?
By helping each person in your church work through this exercise, they discover two things: their calling and their circle. They identify who God has called them to be and who he is calling them to reach. It helps them figure out that their calling is to glorify God and make disciples in their unique way - where their story, passions, and abilities intersect.
When this happens, disciple-making goes from intimidating to exciting for people. And it unleashes disciple-making both inside and outside the walls of the church.
To help people create their kingdom circle plan, they need to combine three things: (1) God’s promises, (2) their purpose, and (3) their circle’s priorities. When people connect these things together, they can change their social circle to a kingdom circle. I break down these three areas of discovery in Movement-Ready Church (chapter 7).
